3 out of 5 stars Not what it is set up to be.   December 29, 2008
It seems simple to assembly and in fact for the most part it is simple. The velcro ties and the net itself provide minor difficulty but nothing excessive. Stretching the net in order to attach the velcro can be a pain.
The velcro ties come off easily when a ball is thrown hard enough into the net. This has happened on three instances. The velcro at first came off just from the stress of being attached to the net.
Setting the angle is annoying and takes a little time. Somehow if you get it right the playback is twisted anyway and you must take time to re-adjust everything.
As for long term use, I can forsee this not holding up to a child throwing hard into the object on a continual basis.

4 out of 5 stars Pleased with Purchase and Easy Assembly   December 28, 2008
I purchased this for my 5 yr. old son and he loves it. He'll use any ball he can throw incl. football, lax, baseball, kids basketball, and soccer. It seems to be pretty sturdy. His sessions vary from a couple of throws to 20 minutes. Longer if I join in. I believe the price was fair, which is hard to say these days. Tension from the elastic velcro bands is what holds this unit together. I suggest you move the unit while fully opened before folding down for storage because once the tension is released the frame poles come apart. Although it's no big deal to put back together and adjust frame angle for tension again. All in all I'm relatively happy with my purchase.

3 out of 5 stars Easton Playback   December 19, 2008
I bought the Easton Junior Playback for my son as he does not have any boys that live by him to play with. He says he likes the way it will throw back both ground balls and fly balls. We tied it to a teleplhone pole and a metal fence post. This keeps it where it belongs. Easton sends 5 extra straps which was a good thing as we needed them at certain spots that keep loosing straps. It seems to be holding up well but you do need to consider how hard the ball is thrown at it. I don't think it would work very good for high school age kids. He has had a lot of fun with it.
Much better made than what the local stores sell.

5 out of 5 stars Highly recommended   August 25, 2008

My son plays with this for hours. It was easy to set up, and seems to be very stable. We haven't had it for very long, and put it in the shed when he's not using it, so I can't attest to overall durability. But, I do know we had one of the cheaper ones that didn't perform even close to as well as this one....no contest.

Would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Great pitchback   July 19, 2008

We ordered this pitchback for our two boys to replace the same model that wore out after about 5 years. We keep the pitchback outside all year long and the weather took its toll on the first one. It is easy for the boys to adust the angel of the back. They love to practice getting grounders or quick throws back when they play with it. Sometimes they play for an hour other times 5 or 10 minutes while they are waiting for the bus. Great for practice and improving catching skills.
